Another Butler County farm is among 35 across the state to be protected through a program preserving agricultural land for future generations.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the 92 acre Lawrence and Carrie Lang crop and livestock farm in Marion Township is the latest to be safeguarded through the Farmland Preservation Program.
With a total investment of nearly $300,000 including nearly $290,000 from the state and nearly $3,000 from the county, this operation will now be protected from future residential, commercial, or industrial development in order to preserve the future of farming and food security in the state.
Over 50 Butler County farms have been preserved through this program so far. Visit the Department of Agriculture website for more information.
