The long awaited update to the sewer system in Marion Township now has a start date.
County officials say that work will begin in May on the sewer system.
The nearly $5 million project crossed the final financial hurdle late last year after securing significant state funding.
Earlier this year, Butler County Commissioners awarded a number of bids for the project.
Bids were awarded for the installation of grinder pumps, excavating, electric, and the building of the sewer plant.
The project will provide a new sewage system to about 100 homes in Marion Township. Officials hope for the project to be finished by the end of the year.
