It’s been a whirlwind of a year for news to impact the stock market, but as local financial advisor Howie Pentony explains it hasn’t had a negative impact on Wall Street.
“If we go to the end of this year, and just stay where we are, the market would be up 10 percent,” Pentony said. “Nobody was thinking that would happen with COVID, a contentious presidential election, and other factors. If we make to the end of the year up 10 percent, I’ll be real happy.”
Pentony says even over the last few weeks, despite the ongoing legal battles over the Presidency, the market has responded favorably.
“If you look back in history, it doesn’t matter who is in power. The stock market does, what the stock market does.”
On Thursday the Dow finished up around 44 points.
