Marlene A. Bonyak, 87, of Butler, passed away, Sunday morning, September 1, 2024.
She was born August 5, 1937 in Butler, daughter of the late Henry Lauteria and Theresa (Giaccomo) Lauteria.
Marlene was a lifelong resident of Butler, graduating from Butler High School. She worked at Boscovs in Butler and retired in 2020. She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler, where she part of the Ladies of Charity. She was a member of the Marine Corp League Ladies auxiliary, loved cats, coloring, reading and working puzzle books.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Michael) MacConnell of Beaver Falls, PA.
Grandchildren: Dianna (Luc) Carr-Dizinno of Butler; David (Amy) Schmeider of Avon Lake, OH and Robin (Terry) Thompson of Glenshaw, PA.
6 great grandchildren: Charlie, Jack, Hannah, Henry, Benjamin and Teddy,
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith “Mike” Bonyak, also her son Matthew Bonyak.
Family and friends will gather at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am, at St. Michael the archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Avenue in Butler. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery.
