Several Mars Area School District administrators are heading to the nation’s capital to accept a prestigious award.
Mars Superintendent Dr. Wes Shipley, High School Principal Lindsay Rosswog, and Spanish teacher Scott McCarthy will travel to Washington D.C. today for the National Blue Ribbon Award Ceremony.
Shipley said he is excited about this opportunity and looks forward to speaking with officials from the federal Department of Education. The district will receive a banner and plaque that will be displayed in the High School.
In September the U.S. Secretary of Education named Mars Area High School one of 312 public and 50 private schools nationwide to receive this honor this year.
