The Mars Area School Board is moving forward with filling the rest of the term of a member who has announced plans to resign.
Earlier this month board member Nicole Thurner announced that she is planning a move out of the district so she will resign her board membership effective January 9th.
The board received 16 letters of interest by yesterday’s deadline.
Board members will conduct interviews at special public meetings to be held Wednesday, January 3rd and Thursday the 4th at 6 p.m. before a vote is taken at the January 9th meeting.
This term expires in December of 2025.
