Some course modifications for next school year at Mars High School have been approved by the school board.
A “Study Seminar” class will be made available for special education students to improve organization and keep up with other work from other classes. Students will receive credit and a grade for the class and be enrolled on an “as-needed” basis.
A “Learning Enrichment” course designed for gifted students will be removed from the class list since no one has been signing up for it due to the fact it brings down a student’s QPA. Learning enrichment work will continue to take place outside of this class.
Several other course changes will take place, including the offering of a Business Math class as well as separating Concert Band from Wind Ensemble since one is a graded course and the other is not.
