There are still some Butler County kids enjoying summer vacation- for one more week.
The Mars Area School District will not start a new school year until Monday (SEPT 9).
This is later than usual due to an ongoing, big, renovation project at the Mars Area Middle School. The majority of the work was done over the summer, but there are still some things to do. Construction will take place after school hours- likely through December.
The project includes renovations to all classrooms; the installation of a new floor, new lighting and air conditioning in the gym; and the raising of the floor in The Commons (cafeteria).
New mechanical equipment, flooring and lighting is being installed throughout the building and all areas are getting a fresh coat of paint.
