Students at a local school will learn more about school safety during a program planned for later this week.
Fifth graders at the Mars Area Centennial School will take part in an ALICE assembly on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ALICE stands for stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate.
Local police will share information about how teachers and students can react in the event of a potentially life threatening situation. Students will learn more about what is expected of them during these kind of incidents.
All Mars Area School District administrators, teachers, and staff have previously participated in similar trainings and other school safety programs developed by the district with local first responders. All training information reflects the district’s emergency response procedures.
