It is Read Across America Week- and many local students will be participating in events.
Students at Mars Area Centennial and Elementary Schools will enjoy themes for each day of the week. Monday is “Surfs Up for Reading” Day and kids can wear a Hawaiian shirt. Tuesday is “Be a Storybook Character” Day with students encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character. Other themes include “Read Your Shirt” Day, “Reading Jogs the Mind” Day and “Reading Gives You Superpowers” Day.
Students at Mars Area Primary Center will also participate by enjoying an “adventures in reading” performance on Monday as well as taking a field trip to the Mars Area Public Library on Wednesday and Thursday.
