When Mars students head back to class next week, some will be given a computer or pad that they can take home.
The district’s One-To-One Technology Program provides each high school student (grades 9-12) with a district-issued electronic device that can be used both in school and at home for educational purposes.
Students who do plan to take their device home must pay a $100 fee. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch programs are exempt. If a student decides not to pay the fee, they will still be given a device that they can use during the school day.
The district also allows students to bring in an approved personal device- if they’d rather do that. It’s called the BYOT program- Bring Your Own Technology.
