A teacher in the Mars Area School District is being considered for a nationwide award based on the results of a vote going on now.
Chris Churilla is a library/media studies and STEAM teacher at the Mars Area Centennial School who was recently nominated for the Reader’s Digest America’s Favorite Teacher Award.
This award is to recognize a teacher who instills a love for learning, cultivates critical thinking skills, and nurtures the potential of each student with dedication that goes beyond the classroom. The winner will receive $25,000, a trip to Hawaii, and recognition in Reader’s Digest.
Those interested in voting for Churilla can do so through the America’s Favorite Teacher website until April 4th.
