An emergency situation has resulted in the Mars Area School Board approving an expenditure to replace equipment.
At their meeting Tuesday night, the board authorized up to $15,000 to replace the condenser and evaporator at Mars Area High School.
No bids have been received yet but the authorization is needed in order to allow the repairs to be made as quickly as possible.
The Mars School Board also approved a motion to direct engineers to prepare specifications and bidding documents for the new Middle School access road. The board would need to take action on a bid at a future meeting before that project would get underway.
