The Mars Area School District will offer a training session for parents of special education students this week.
The session is planned for Tuesday between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Mars High School.
The district says the goal is to aid parents in understanding procedural requirements for students who qualify for special education services. For anyone unable to attend, the presentation will be posted online to the district’s website.
Special education programming at Mars has been under fire this year after the district received an unfavorable audit from the state. Several parents allege the district is lacking in its special education offerings to students.
