Mars Area School District administrators have decided to close schools to students and move to complete remote learning beginning December 1st and continuing through January 4th.
According to Superintendent Dr. Mark Gross, this decision was made considering recommendations from the state Departments of Health and Education as well as continued substantial transmission in the Butler County area.
All students who have been attending school for traditional instruction will be asked to transition to Live-Stream Interactive instruction at the end of Thanksgiving break. Teachers will continue to offer live instruction from their classrooms and be available to students during the school day.
While Mars hopes to reopen schools to students for in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 5th, district administrators will meet January 4th to make a final decision based on the latest local data along with recommendations from state agencies.
