Martha Jane Grossi, age 88, of Butler, passed away Sun., June 6, 2021 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born in Claytonia on Dec. 17, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Charlotte E. Crouch Wolford.
She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
Martha was a registered nurse. During her career she was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital, the office of Dr. William Fitzsimmons, Butler Veterans Administration Hospital, and she retired from Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She volunteered at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Martha is survived by three children, Steven J. Grossi and his wife, Rose, of Butler, Kathleen Nevel and her husband, Larry, of Butler, and Carol McPherson, of Butler; one sister, Linda Gallagher and her husband, Edward, of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Grossi, who passed away August 18, 2007; one brother, Arthur Wolford; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Rose Grossi.
There was no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thurs., June 10, from Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with Rev. Dan Waruszewski officiating.
Burial took place in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler.
