Mary Ann Geagan, age 88, of Butler, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at Newhaven Court at Clearview.
Born in Butler on August 26, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Nelson A. and Stella M. Setnar McKissick.
Mary Ann was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.
She was a former member of the Moose Auxiliary and the French & Belgium Club Auxiliary.
A self-employed hairdresser, she was the owner of Mary Ann Geagan Salon. She retired at the age of 84. She also managed Butler County Memorial Park cemetery for 12 years, and for 25 years she organized and led bus tours to Atlantic City.
Mary Ann enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing and yard work. The Geagan family was well known for the outdoor Christmas displays they installed each year at their home on Tacoma Avenue on Butler’s Southside.
She is survived by four sons, Barry D. Geagan and his wife, Cathy, of Lyndora, Robert E. Geagan and his wife, Kim, of Butler, Leo S. Geagan III and his wife, Kim, of Butler, and Patrick M. Geagan, of Butler; one daughter, Kathleen Ellwood and her husband, Douglas, of Butler; two sisters, Dorothy Nail of North Carolina, and Linda Pugh and her husband, Glenn, of Butler.
Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Shawn, Stacy, Cory, Cody, Kylie, Megan, Dillon, Trinity, Dustin and Jesse; and ten great-grandchildren, Carson, Smith, Luciano, Braydan, Cooper, Brycen, Preslie, Riley, Ayden, and Brody.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leo S. Geagan, Jr., who passed away January 14, 2019; one son, Ralph E. Geagan, who passed away in 1957; three brothers; and two sisters.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler, with Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
