Mary Etta Orris, 98, formerly of Buffalo Twp., passed away on December 18, 2024 at the St. John’s Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born April 6, 1926 in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Charles Orren and Virginia Shroyer Frampton.
Mary Etta lived her entire adult life in Buffalo Twp., in the same house that she and her late husband Dwight Carnes Orris build nearly 80 years ago. Mary Etta lived her life without a lot of fanfare, but still touched many with her empathy and kindness. She was a homemaker, a skilled seamstress and crafter and enjoyed being outdoors working with flowers and shrubs. Mary Etta generously donated her time and talents to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Freeport, where she was an active member for over 80 years. She had volunteered with the Girl Scouts and Meals on Wheels. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a delight to her.
Surviving are daughter, Carolyn (Rick) Graff of Saxonburg, daughter, Cathleen Mechas of Davie, FL, daughter, Diane (Rob) Sundberg of Kane, PA, four grandchildren, Tricia (Randy) Smith, Michael (Mary Beth) Graff, Katie (Jason) Williams and Joseph Acerni and five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alison, Casey, Lizzy and Paul.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 2:00 pm at the Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA, with Rev. Jeff Truscott officiating.
Interment will follow in Sarversville Cemetery.
