Mary Josephine (Marcucci) Gurner, 92, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born March 5, 1928 in Boyers, the daughter of the late Angelo and Margaret (Diane) Marcucci.
Josephine was married to her late husband, Albert Robert Gurner on June 28, 1947. They were married for 54 years until his passing.
She was a founding client of Life Butler County for the last eleven years. She was a member of Member of Community Alliance Church. Josephine retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center and the Butler Area School District. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, Bingo and the casinos.
She is survived by her only daughter, Nevada Sue (Brewster) Legacy and her son-in-law, Thomas; one granddaughter, Marie (Rekich) Kutsch and Jay Kutsch; two grandsons, Michael Legacy and Emily O’Brien and Nicholas and Rachel Legacy; and two step grandchildren, Megan and Ben Estep and Matthew and Brittany Legacy. Also, surviving, the lights of her life, her two great granddaughters, Jocelyn and Savannah Kutsch.
Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Cora Thomas, Sophie Benware, Ray (Liz) Marcucci, Joseph Marcucci and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Sara Ziegler, Beatrice Hinds, Nick, Alfred and Adolph Marcucci.
Due to current mandates, unfortunately visitation will be limited to family on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 3 – 5 PM at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. An open service will be celebrated on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11 AM at Community Alliance Church. Private entombment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
