Injured Karns City football player Mason Martin is continuing to make progress in his rehab and recovery.
In an update from his father, Mason has been “showing a lot of improvements in rehab” after receiving Botox injections. He has been able to use weights and a bike machine with assistance.
His father also said that Mason has been able to grab and hold a tennis racket.
“One of my favorite highlights of the week occurred when they put a tennis racket in his left hand. He can grasp and support it by himself,” Martin wrote in a Facebook post. “I would toss him a balloon and as soon as it would hit the racket he would push it back to me. It felt like I was playing catch with him again.”
His father says that Mason will be extending his stay at Children’s for another 20 days, with a tentative release date of April 24th. His father was supportive of the decision and is hopeful of his continued recovery over the next month.
