Karns City quarterback Mason Martin has now moved to a rehabilitation unit at another hospital.
According to an update from Mason’s father, the cranial flap surgery was done over a week ago. After that operation, Mason “looked like a new person.” His father says Mason was awake and very responsive.
Doctors also had to drain fluid from his head, which is typical with brain injuries according to his father. Mason had suffered a fever during this process, but made a recovery after being prescribed anti-biotics.
Mason was then taken to UPMC Mercy to begin his rehab treatment. His father says the next six weeks are “going to be challenging” and he needs the community strength.
