A garage fire just south of the Butler County line resulted in a closure of Route 8 Tuesday.
The fire broke out around 4 p.m. on Cunningham Road in Richland Township—near the intersection with Sandy Hill Road. Our news partners at WPXI report that black smoke could be seen billowing throughout the entire area.
Crews described the fire as “massive” and also said that it was difficult to access.
Route 8 had to be shut down in both directions and didn’t reopen until after 6 p.m.
No one was injured, but the cause of the fire is not known.
