Josh Shapiro now knows who he’ll be facing in the race for governor this fall.
State Senator Doug Mastriano won the Republican nomination over a field of nine other competitors getting around 30 percent of the vote.
That comes despite the efforts of some Republicans who dropped out of the race prior to Election Day—however their names remained on the ballot.
Shapiro was unopposed in his primary.
In the Lieutenant Governor race, Shapiro’s endorsed candidate State Representative Austin Davis has secured the nomination. As for the Republicans, State Representative Carrie DelRosso appears to the frontrunner at the moment.
