Staff members at a local park will welcome volunteers at a workday session scheduled for later this week.
On Friday staff at McConnells Mill State Park will lead a volunteer workday starting at 9am. Participants will park at the Kildoo Picnic Area and meet with the group at the mill before working on improvements to the gristmill, fountain, and trail at the park.
Volunteers are asked to wear gloves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes during the event, which is scheduled to continue until 11:30am. Participants are also asked to bring a personal water bottle and snacks.
Officials also say that Friday’s event is a great opportunity for ages 16 and older, and those under 18 are to be accompanied by an adult. No experience is necessary.
