A local state park will host an annual festival this weekend.
McConnells Mill will host the 27th annual Heritage Festival- sponsored by the Portersville-Prospect Rotary.
People will have the option to start the event with a free hay wagon shuttle to the mill, get off the shuttle and go through all three floors of the mill, event organizer Natalie Simon said.
There will also be live music throughout the day too.
The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. This year’s festival will celebrate the operational time period of the historical gristmill, which ran from 1852 to 1928.
Those who attend will also be able to enjoy music and free tours of the mill, as well as demonstrations, and vendors. According to Simon, a Civil War encampment will offer another unique experience.
There will be no charges for admission or parking at the McConnells Mill Heritage Festival.
