Anyone interested in helping at local state park or enjoying the beauty of nature will have an opportunity this weekend.
Volunteers are needed at McConnells Mill State Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kildoo Picnic area to help clean up trails, picnic and parking areas, and the historic gristmill. Participants are asked to dress for working outdoors as well as bring a lunch and water. Reservations are not necessary but groups should call the park office.
The Muddy Creek Oil Field Living History exhibit will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Park Road at Moraine State Park. Volunteers will be on hand to operate the engine and answer questions. COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be followed at this free gathering.
