The public is invited out to a couple of events at a local park later this week.
First, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday the park naturalist will lead a program called Crayfishing from the Hell’s Hollow Trail Parking Lot at McConnells Mill State Park. This activity promises fun and discovery for the whole family without having to lift a single rock. Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
Also on Friday, area residents are invited to McConnells Mill to learn more about the Eastern Hemlock tree. From 3 to 5 p.m., attendees will meet at the Breakneck Falls Parking lot to learn more about the importance of our state tree. Participants joining the park naturalist on this nearly two mile hike are advised to wear sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather, as well as bring drinking water and snacks.
