Melissa Denise Uber, 43, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Chicora, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving parents on Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Melissa was born in Butler on July 25, 1980. She was the daughter of Edward F. and Linda A. Smith Uber of Chicora.
She attended school in Pittsburgh and graduated from Langley High School. She was a life member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora where she was baptized. She enjoyed music, especially the Spice Girls and adult company.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Edward F. Uber Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Miami, Florida; a sister, Heather D. Borrell and her husband, David, of Enola; two nephews, Jonathan and Jacob Uber of Miami, FL; two nieces, Taylor and McKenna Borrell of Enola; her uncles and aunts, Larry and Stacia Smith of Texas, Bruce and Ruth Smith of Karns City, Kevin and Sheri Smith of Bruin, Barbara and Bob Hiles of Petrolia, Karen Botinobch of Butler, Sherri and Ernie Goff of Tampa, FL, as well as a number of cousins.
Melissa was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Todd Uber, an infant brother, her paternal grandparents, Edward and Margaret Uber and her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Alma Smith.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1-4 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
