An impressive response to a recent fundraiser will benefit a new scholarship in memory of graduate of Butler County Community College.
213 participants and 19 volunteers joined together for the first Sarah Kasunic Adventure 5K Run-Walk at BC3 in September which raised over $5,000 for the endowed scholarship in her memory.
The 23-year-old Kasunic died last March at a hospital in Tennessee following a vehicle accident. Kasunic graduated from Knoch High School in 2013 and from BC3 in 2016 with a degree in nursing.
Thanks to the donations of 96 individuals and businesses, a total of over $25,000 has been raised so far and will benefit future BC3 nursing students. Next year’s event is planned for September 5th.
