The upcoming holiday weekend is considered the unofficial start of the summer travel season, but the pandemic has changed expectations.
For the first time in 20 years, Triple-A has not issued a Memorial Day travel forecast. Agency officials say the economic data used to create the forecast has been undermined by COVID-19.

Triple-A does expect to make travel projections for the late summer and fall, assuming that states ease restrictions and more businesses reopen.
