Two men are facing charges after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a gun from a vehicle.
On October 15, a man gave a ride to two men from Slippery Rock to Butler City. During that ride, one of the men reportedly stole a gun from the glove box, however the men left behind a bowling ball bag.
The following day, another resident reported a robbery at their Slippery Rock home. Police say the resident lost a bowling ball—which matched the one left in the other man’s vehicle.
The victim of the home robbery then received a fraudulent charge from the Honey Bear Mini Mart in Butler City.
Through surveillance video police were able to connect 31-year-old Ryan Pengryn of Butler and 22-year-old Kameron Myers of Chicora to the theft.
Both had bail set at $50,000 for both men but at the time of the filing of the compliant Myers was in the Butler County Prison for previous charges. Pengryn was unable to post bail and is still in the Butler County Prison.
