A Mercer County man was sentenced to 18 months in a federal prison after pleading guilty to tax fraud.
35-year-old Dustin Golub of Hermitage was the owner of Penn Ohio Roofing and Siding and courts say he hid nearly $3.8 million from the IRS over a three year span.
Courts say that instead of depositing all of his business receipts into the operating accounts, Golub tried to spread the money through nine different banks—including some under his children’s names.
In addition to the sentencing, Golub must pay a $510,000 fine to the IRS and also faces probation upon his release.
