A Miami man has been charged in Butler County for stealing a vehicle worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The incident happened on May 27th when 40-year-old Litho Rivas stole a Peterbilt truck from Hunter Truck Sales in Penn Township. Police say the truck was valued at $300,000.
Police say Rivas then took off with the truck and was spotted at a Sheetz in Armstrong County before fleeing to Virginia.
He eventually called a tow company to remove the truck after getting stuck in the mud at a hotel.
Rivas was taken into custody on May 31st in Virginia.
GPS records and surveillance photographs were also used to connect Rivas to the crime.
He has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
