Michael Robert “Mike” Berteotti, 52, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly following a very brief illness on Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh.
Michael was born in Clarion on May 14, 1970. He was the son of John M. Berteotti and the late Susan Schimp Berteotti.
He was a 1988 graduate of Karns City High School and following graduation he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years where he received computer training. Mike was very patriotic and had a sincere concern for POWs. He was very knowledgeable and worked with computers, having been employed with Innovation Technologies in Allison Park. He enjoyed handgun target shooting, helping family and friends with their computers and spending time with his three cats.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tina Pelkey Berteotti, whom he married in Champlain, NY on August 20, 1993. Also surviving is his father, John M. Berteotti of Butler; his sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Jo Zang and her husband, Les, of West Sunbury; a nephew, Deven Zang and his fiancé, Miranda, of Quakertown; two nieces, Tiffany Rob and her husband, Seth, of Chicora and Emily Zang of West Sunbury; a great nephew and great niece, Weston and Sadie Rob.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary Pelkey and Beverly Veivia.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a Methodist pastor, officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the American Legion Posts #778 and #117 and VFW Posts #249 and #499. Interment will be at Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville.
