Michele Marie Matz, 56, of Butler passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 5th 2023 at her residence of natural causes. She had several ongoing health problems for many years. She passed away two years to the day as her father did, Rick Matz Sr. known as “Big Rick”. She was also the daughter of the late Mary Prescott.
Michelle is survived by her daughter Megan-Rose Brittner. Her long time boyfriend, Jim Kennedy. Her brothers, Mark Matz Sr. Rick Matz jr.
Tony Matz and Greg Froby the son of Lou Ann Matz, her stepmother and numerous aunts and uncles.
Loretta Lenig, Roberta Lyons, Ann-Marie Bieng, Catherine Brousseau, Patty Grimm, Uncle Larry, Susan Baurle and Uncle Robert Prescott.
Michelle is also survived by many cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephew, and great niece & nephew.
Michelle Marie Matz was born at Allegheny General Hospital on November 14th 1966 and raised in Pittsburgh. She attended culinary school and pursued her culinary career and was chef at numerous restaurants and establishments. Michelle was a long time member and talented Chef for the beautiful Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ Church in Troy Hill Pennsylvania, where she was known as “Mitch” to her co-workers. She loved and was loved by her friends in Pittsburgh and in Saxonburg. Michelle had a true passion for food and for people. But the apple of her eye is her beautiful daughter Megan – Rose.
All are welcome… family and friends to attend Michelle’s Memorial that will be held on June 3rd 2023 from 11 AM – Noon at 1700 Harpster Street Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212.
