Next month, voters in Middlesex Township will decide if local businesses should be able to sell alcohol.
The Butler County appointed board of elections- which does not include the commissioners because all three are running for re-election- unanimously voted Wednesday to add a referendum question on the May primary ballot regarding the sale of liquor in Middlesex.
If it passes, Middlesex’s decades-long status as a dry township would be changed.
Supporters say more and more development is coming into the township and the attraction of a liquor license could expand that even further.
