Moraine and McConnells Mill State Parks will be hosting a couple of outdoor activities this weekend.
On Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. a Mother’s Day Weekend Brunch and Hike is planned at McConnell’s Mill. Participants can learn how to cook a quiche with charcoal in a Dutch oven as well as enjoy a guided wildflower hike. The cost is $5 and beverages are not provided. Those planning to attend should wear sturdy hiking boots and dress for the weather. Preregistration is required by calling the park office.
Also on Saturday a Glacier Ridge Shoreline Hike will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 528 launch on Moraine’s North Shore. Park staff will lead a nearly three mile hike on moderate terrain. Those planning to attend are advised to dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear as well as bring water and a snack.
