Those interested in learning more about bats are invited to a unique event later this week.
On Friday the park naturalist at Moraine State Park will lead a program about bats at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Route 528 from 8 to 10 p.m.
Visitors will see a bat condo in action and will explore the wonders of these nighttime insectivores. They will also learn why bats may be in trouble and how they can help scientists by reporting bat activity.
Event goers are asked to bring blankets, chairs, flashlights, and bug protection. Facilities will not be available at the event’s location.
