A local state park will welcome guests to an event later this week that will focus on a unique bird.
On Thursday, Moraine State Park will host a Timberdoodle Flutter from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Pavilion #7 at the McDanel’s Launch Area on the North Shore.
During the event, guests will learn more about the American Woodcock, which is also known as a Timberdoodle. Participants will also hear from a guest speaker who will also discuss the habitat work that is occurring at Moraine.
Following the presentation, attendees will go on a short hike in search of Timberdoodles.
Registration is required for this event, and can be made by calling the Park Office at 724-368-8811. Participants are also encouraged to bring binoculars, warm clothes, and field footwear.
