Moraine and McConnells Mill State Park will be hosting a couple events this weekend.
First is a Wood Duck Nesting Box Workday at the Moraine parking lot at the end of Burton Road on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will help to erect wood duck nesting boxes in the Muddy Creek Cove area on the eastern end of Lake Arthur. Those planning to attend should dress for outdoor work and bring lunch, water, work gloves.
Also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, park staff will lead a Tree Identification Walk at McConnells Mill State Park. All ages are welcome on this guided walk focusing on forestry tips, techniques, and tools. Those interested should meet at the Kildoo Picnic Area, wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a drink and snack.
