The author of a book about Moraine State Park will highlight a two hour event about the visionary behind the local landmark later this week.
The Making of Moraine Frank Preston – the Man, the Moment, and the Mission will be held from 1pm to 3pm Tuesday at the State Parks Region 2 Office Conference Room, located on Park Road in Prospect.
Polly Shaw, who authored “Images of Modern America Moraine State Park,” will share images and insights into the life of English immigrant and glass technologist Dr. Frank W. Preston. As a resident of Meridian, Preston pursued varied interests in geology, ornithology, the out-doors, and recreating a glacial lake.
The public is welcome to attend this presentation.
