Officials at a local state park will lead participants on an interesting and educational tour later this week.
On Thursday (July 28th), staff at Moraine State Park will lead a kayaking event that will focus on the ecology of Lake Arthur. During the session, event goers will also learn more about the herons and kingfishers that frequent the park.
Thursday’s session will run from 1pm to 3pm and will begin at the Pleasant Valley Launch on the South Shore. Kayaks and gear will be provided, but participants can also bring their own. Life jackets are required.
The session is geared for ages 12 and older with those under 18 being accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required, and can be made by calling the park office at 724-368-8811.
