Moraine State Park is offering local educators a workshop later this week for those interested in teaching more about wetlands.
Park from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will discuss a Wonders of Wetlands curriculum from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday at Pavilion 7 McDanel’s Launch Area on the North Shore.
The comprehensive instruction will focus on the importance of water, soil, and plants as well as the role of wetlands in the ecosystem. All equipment will be provided for participants to go on a kayak paddle and receive a Wonders of Wetlands curriculum guide.
The cost to attend is $20 and registration is required by calling the park office.
