A young girl was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after she was hit by a vehicle yesterday morning in Slippery Rock.
It happened after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Franklin Road and Vincent Street.
Dispatchers tell our newsroom that an Slippery Rock School District Middle School student was hit at a bus stop. Police say the bus had stopped and had its lights flashing, but the driver of the vehicle did not see the lights and hit the girl.
Our news partners at WPXI-TV report that the driver of the vehicle was a 20-year-old man, who is a student at Slippery Rock University.
The girl was then taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital. At last word, the girl was in stable condition.
The student is cooperating with police, but is expected to be charged.
