Butler County officials are feeling optimistic about Alameda Waterpark opening for more hours this summer.
The parks and recreation director said yesterday that the county has hired 12 more lifeguards for the summer. Last year, the pool operated on reduced hours due to understaffing.
The increase in staff comes as the county approved bumping up the hourly wage for lifeguards to a minimum of $12.50 per hour. Interested applicants need to be at least 15 years old.
The county is also looking for concession stand workers and cashiers.
The pool is set to open on June 4th.
