Heavy rain and storms over the weekend caused problems for numerous residents across Butler County.
Flash flooding closed several roads in northern Butler County on Sunday.
The Bruin Volunteer Fire Department had to rescue one family after their home sustained structural damage. Chief Eric Feicht said two adults and three children were displaced. The Red Cross is assisting them.
“They had flooding the other day, and then they had flooding again on Sunday,” Feicht said Monday. “They have structural damage. The home is uninhabitable.”
The department also helped pump out a dozen or so basements following Sunday’s rain.
“The ground is just so saturated. If we get any kind of heavy rainfall it just has nowhere to go,” Feicht said.
As of Monday morning, Bruin Queenstown Road remained closed. All other roads that were closed Sunday due to debris have since reopened.
