A state representative is proposing moving next year’s primary in Pennsylvania back a couple of months.
Republican Russ Diamond of Hershey says the proposal is two-fold. The first reason is that redistricting has been delayed due to the pandemic, so Congressional districts for next year’s election are unknown.
The second part is more controversial. He’s asking to have every voter re-register. Diamond says people would have to provide proof of residency and citizenship.
Civil liberty groups are expected to fight the legislation.
