A couple of animals died in a barn fire earlier this morning.
The fire broke out around 7 a.m. at a barn in the 200 block of Rockdale Road in Penn Township.
After initial crews arrived, a tanker truck was called along with other fire companies to help handle the fire.
Crews were able to knock down the flames and contain most of the damage to one side of the barn.
A Penn Township firefighter told our newsroom that the owner lost a couple of cows in the fire. He also said there was extensive damage to the one side of the barn.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
