New Pennsylvania State Representative Marci Mustello has had a busy first couple of months in office.
“I was sworn-in on June 4,” Mustello told Butler Radio in a sit-down interview Monday. “Immediately following that swearing-in I was asked to take my seat and I started voting- It was budget time.”
She says she relied on Butler County’s other local lawmakers to help get her acclimated and adjusted to her new role.
“It was a whirlwind,” she said. “It was an interesting month.”
Mustello received committee assignments to the Commerce, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Tourism, and Human Services committees.
In addition to her responsibilities in Harrisburg, Mustello has also been busy locally attending different community functions, as well as moving her 11th District office from Lyndora to Barracks Road next to the Pennsylvania State Police building.
“We decided to move offices to make it more convenient for people,” shes said.
The office opened on Aug. 1. Office hours remain the same- weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An open house will be held on Aug. 22 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Those planning to attend should RSVP to Mustello’s office.
The lawmaker, from Butler Township, was sworn-in earlier this year to complete the term of former State Rep. Brian Ellis after his resignation.
She initially moved into Ellis’ former office.
The 11th Legislative District in Butler County includes the city of Butler; Chicora, Connoquenessing, Fairview, Karns City, Petrolia, Prospect and Saxonburg boroughs; as well as Butler, Clearfield, Connoquenessing, Donegal, Fairview, Jefferson, Oakland and Summit townships.
