Myrtle M (Brown) Cumberland

Myrtle M (Brown) Cumberland, of Butler passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She was born in Butler on November 21, 1940 to the late William Powell and Emma (Miller) Morrow. Myrtle graduated from Slippery Rock High School class of 1958. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Butler VA Medical Center and retired after 28 years. Myrtle enjoyed Christian and country music, reading, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was also known for her strong faith. Myrtle was the mother of Patty Perez and Susan (Greg) Simpson; and grandmother of Megan, Michelle, Amanda, Nicole, Jamie, Jimmy, Jessica, and Kimberly. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and her good friend Debbie Livermore. Along with her parents, Myrtle was also preceded in death by her son James and her stepfather Lawrence Morrow. Family and friends received on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 4-5 PM at the North Street Christian Church at 226 W. North St. Butler. A service will immediately follow in the church.
